Close-up of Muhammad Ali's sabil. The sabil contains a huge underground cistern, nine meters deep. It is one of the largest remaining cisterns in Cairo. It is roofed with nine stone domes, and its walls are lined with waterproof mortar, similar to ancient Roman buildings.
